Honey, now if I'm honest...

Why can't I make up my mind?

boys boys boys
After more than a year and a half of singledom - of pretty much no interest from boys beyond a random pash or a casual fling here and there - I've finally met someone really nice who really wants to be with me.. cos he likes me. This is quite a revelation for me. Someone actually likes me in a number of different ways and wants to be in a relationship... blows my mind!

So you can understand that my mind is spinning, when I tell you that since meeting Mr Newlove, not one but two other boys have expressed their interest in persuing a relationship with me. WHAAAAAT?!

And it was only since telling them that I've met someone new. The first boy in question is Boy #1 from my previous online dating experience who I'd seen a few times but it never went beyond a casual thing. I was chatting to him on MSN and mentioned Mr Newlove and all of a sudden Boy #1 was talking about how he'd always felt we had a connection and did I think it was serious with Mr Newlove? cos he'd really like to take me out again some time. He kept pushing it, saying he'd thought from the start that we'd be great together, and he made me promise I'd consider it.

The second boy in question was a friend of mine who I've never blogged about before (because he's completely insignificant in my mind!). I was also chatting to him on MSN and mentioned Mr Newlove when all of a sudden he came out with questions like "How come you and I never got together?", "How about we go see a movie on the weekend?" and "Make sure you give me a call if things don't work out with Mr Newlove".

Bizzare! Now that I'm unavailable I'm suddenly more attractive to the opposite sex!

Anyway, none of that matters since Mr Newlove and I are getting more and more serious.. I've seen him every day since I got back from Melbourne and the more time I spend with him, the more I like him... I keep discovering all these little details which I love (like he's so domesticated! he cooks and cleans and irons) and we're becoming more relaxed around each other so the gentle teasing and mucking around has started. My fave part of a new relationship :) The things that bothered me at the beginning are now almost entirely insignificant, and he's so into me in every way which just makes my self esteem skyrocket. I'm definitely on to a good thing.

Internet dating, huh? Would woulda thunk it?

Awwww :) How cool! I am so happy for you. Forgeddabout the other 2 guys, they had their chances and missed the boat.

Heaps of people I know met on the internets, but most are too embarrassed to admit it so make up some other covert story....

It's all just the unfair way the world works, boys are always not bothered to do anything when you are single but when you go off the market they realise what they've missed out on. When it rains, it pours and all of that :P

I'm SOOOOO glad things are working out so well, I can tell by the way you talked about him on the weekend that you are very taken by him and I'm so pleased it's all going swimmingly :D

I love the self esteem boost of being with someone who loves you just as you are, it's so much easier to believe all the positive self talk when there is someone else backing it all up in real life.

    YAY FOR YOU :D!!!!

It always happens that way... I've noticed it too. Not recently, but on a number of different occassions.

But I agree with (the other) Amanda- forget about the others! Mr Newlove sounds wonderful. A couple of my friends met on the internet, and they're getting married in April next year, so there's plenty of internet success stories out there. I'm almost tempted to give it a go myself.

    Awww how awesome!!

Funny how as soon as guys sniff another man in the picture they want a peice of the action!! Its like if your getting attention from one guy, the others think you must be totally fantastic and want some too. Why dont they think it before the other man comes along! God men are pains!!

So glad you are having a good time with your new mans!

    Congrats! xxxx

well I hope you have spent all of about 3 seconds 'considering No1' (as you promised) then told him that your very happy with how things are developing with Mr Newlove. Lets face it No1 meet you first, had his opportunity to sweep you off your feet first, and secure you for himself first, but............................

    DIDN'T.

So unfortunatly the ship has sailed and he has missed the boat so to speak.

Sounds like your happy and getting on great with Mr Newlove anyway, and thats all that matters.

    Hi there

This is the first time that I've posted on your blog, I've probably read the last couple of posts so I'm a relatively new reader!

I reckon that you should stick to Mr Newlove - he sounds great and it sounds like you enjoy each other company which is awesome!

I've just recently started seeing some that I met on the net too, it's all very new but I do actually like this one!

    Fingers crossed for us!

Awww, I'm so happy for you hun. Does he know about your blog? If not, are you going to tell him?

I'm asking cos I just read the post below and wondered how that would fit if you were going to keep it from him.

    Hi Jac

Great to hear that internet dating has delivered Mr Newlove to you!

I met my boy through internet dating. We didn't tell anyone how we met in the beginning, even when we moved across the country together 3 months after we met. But now, after 4 years together we don't mind who knows!

    Enjoy it!

    Els
